Impressed by madam Evelina Khromtchenko

Территория компании LaModa вместе со всеми её обитателями, надолго задержавшимися в понедельник вечером после работы, как будто глотнула весну в чистом виде, как только мадам Эвелина Хромченко уверенно процокала каблучками в сторону отведённого ей места. Ярко-оранжевое пальто было единственным акцентом во всём её строгом образе, но каким! Ветреный апрельский день как будто стал немного теплее от этого апельсинного, радостного оттенка. Пожалуй, эта барышня – единственный человек в России, который бы так хорошо разбирался в стиле, истории моды, новинках. Помимо всего прочего, её очень приятно слушать, недаром журфак МГУ «подвешивает» язык, как надо. Мадам Хромченко знает, что говорит, и говорит без умолку. Эта крошечная и очень стойкая женщина (туфли на босу-уже-натёртую-ногу явно не прибавляли удобства) прочитала уникальную лекцию по всем модным тенденциям сезона весна-лето 2012.

Итак, что будет носить мир в тёплые месяцы этого года? Однозначно, БЕЛОЕ. Его много и повсюду, притом, преобладают простые формы и линии, особенно в летних костюмах, брюках, платьях. Также в моде ПАСТЕЛЬ, всё нежное и лёгкое, цвета драже, lollypop и маршмеллоу. Её очень легко сочетать друг с другом, потому как в любом пастельном оттенке есть связующее звено – разбеленная составляющая. МОРЕ стало ещё одной актуальной тематикой. Индиго, как у YSL, по мнению Эвелины, перейдёт и в следующий сезон. Принты, особенно водные, блеск и струение, подводный мир, русалки – дизайнеры представили множество вариаций на любой вкус. ЦВЕТЫ этим летом продолжают своё победоносное шествие, но уже не яркие, на чёрном фоне, а скорее акварельные, разбеленные, в духе Монэ, часто на белом, которые go back to pastel so well! ПЛАТКИ. Ими обвязывают и украшают волосы, а также всячески используют в гардеробе. Их представили Versace и D&G.

NUDE (thank god!) is in again this season. Even thou Evelina didn’t sound happy about it and told us that she is tired of this trend – I am not. I love nude and I like the idea of bright make up which she came up with. She is 100% sure that if you put on a nude top or dress, at least eyes or lips should be bright. Hmmm, will do!

ДЕНИМ. В этом сезоне не актуально сочетать разные оттенки, как раньше, скорее один. Очень интересно Эвелина высказалась по поводу потёртостей. По её мнению они могут очень удачно скорректировать фигуру, или, по крайней мере, её не испортить. Для этого джинсы должны быть вытерты в естественных местах (то есть там, где ноги у людей трутся), а также выше или ниже попы, чтобы её визуально «поднять» или «опустить».

Спортивная одежда и одежда спортивного стиля -  это абсолютно разные вещи, и нельзя их путать. В одной ходят в спортзал, другую одевают на прогулки. БУДУАР – we were cracking up when she was telling the audience about this style. Especailly, БОДИ. There is literally no way you can wear it in the city. То, что показывается на подиумах, обладает элементом театральности, искусства, и не всегда носится в обычной жизни. Как раз боди, по мнению Эвелины, особенно с яркими принтами, как у D&G, можно одеть лишь в нескольких случаях: вечеринка на яхте у бассейна (когда нет ни малейшей вероятности, что кто-то в этот бассейн полезет), когда не стыдно показать ноги, даже без босоножек, а также как рабочая одежда для танцев Crazy Horse.

Много мадам Хромченко говорила о драпировках. Коктейльные платья и юбки, задрапированные в районе живота, могут восхитительно прибавить объема, когда его нет, и скрыть, когда он лишний. Они не выходят из моды из сезона в сезон, а также очень лояльны к распределению в любую стилистку.

АР ДЕКО лично мне не по нраву, но в этим летом очень-очень в моде. Плиссировка и бахрома требуют особой с ними работы. Gucci, к примеру, демонстрирует кутюрную работу с кожей, пайетками и стеклярусом. Это яркая демонстрация того, почему люди платят такие деньги за эти бренды.

КРУГЛЫЕ ПЛЕЧИ. Иными словами, любая мужская вещь размера S или женская, M, только не слишком гипертрофированная, смотрится потрясающе.

Что касается туфель, это однозначно МЫСЫ, притом металлические. Эвелина считает это ужасным трендом, и предлагает сочетать такие туфли с простыми платьями-футлярами. На волосах в этом сезоне модно творить всё то, что я люблю – это косички, пучки, хвосты. В макияже мне приглянулись красные губы (которыми все любуются, а подойти боятся), а также выделенные скулы, бронзаты, которые наносятся вместо румян, длинные ресницы («только не клейте на ресницы абы что!», - возмущается Хромченко) и стрелки. Также в моде классический красный, или вообще бесцветный лак. Педикюр – любые тёмные оттенки.

После такого «модного приговора» самое время пройтись по магазинам!

inspirations

Inspiration is definitely one of the weirdest things in the world. It depends on my mood and my life so much! There is definitely smth that makes me happy anytime, like different outfits, books or driving. But I also have many more interests in my life! Do they always inspire me? Nope! Do I know why? Hm…

 

I feel like there are certain things that are pretty much stable and they are cool no matter what – like the smell of the freshly-brewed coffee/fashion and interior magazines/adrenaline in your blood after a cool drive/travelling (!!)/choosing your look for the day/a cake from the bakery downstairs (lucky I have one so close!). I know exactly that all of this puts a smile on my face.

 

There are things you can’t be that sure about. Not because they are less important or you love them less. Sometimes you just don’t know how it goes. For instance, I love theatre and art. Every time I go to the gallery I hope I will looooove it! It happens most of the times but not always. Like contemporary art museums. They drive me nuts! After visiting the ones in New York and Moscow I walked out super depressed and with the feeling that the world is going crazy. No matter how trendy it is to adore contemporary.  Another thing – I always love my friends and usually we have so much fun together! But they are people and can be in a bad mood, with a headache or their life can be a complete mess once in a while. Meeting them for breakfast usually makes my day. Sometimes instead of being inspired and happy smth just goes wrong. Your friend is late again or you are both tired and grouchy. You had a bad day or your friend did. You just never know.

 

The only thing I try to do with all that is to live my life! Day by day, hour by hour. No matter how shitty your day was – there is always another one! Love everything you’ve got. Even if it hasn’t inspired you today – it will, tomorrow! Accept your friends and your soulmates, your work and your apartment, your closet and yourself – just the way they are and try to find inspirations in new things! May be a new friend? A new lover? A new purse? We are all so different and everyone has his own key for creating, drawing, scrapbooking, writing or making people around happy.

Our little smth

You know how every girl has her things. They can differ a lot due to the interests: shoes, purses and accesories, organized in the closet or books, magazines and music on your Ipod. I don't know a single girl who wouldn't keep memories, things or at least smth somewhere. Guys mostly have the necessities around but not us - we always have a table, a corner, or at least a drawer whith stuff. I find this word so funny - everything around is stuff.

 

I don't have one place for it - I have stuff all around my apartment. Organizing it all the time makes me feel like my life gets more organized.It turns out to be important! Rereading postcards makes me memorize the feelings I used to have before and compare them to what I have now. When I  look thru my year planners I realize how much I've done and how many more plans I've got. My closet, my jewelry and my make up just make me happy - day by day.

While I was wandering around my apartment taking pictures for this post I kinda found my center. It's nice to live your life right now, in this very second, but it's also cool to look back once in a while. To say "thank you" to the Universe for everything you've got. To remember and memorize. To love people around a little more. To stress out less.

Look around! I am sure you'll find stuff that will brighten up your day and inspire - for smth awesome!

The spring breeze of changes.

It all gets better. When you see ‘March’ on your phone screen, it becomes easier to make new decisions kick in, smiles appear on your face and love warm your heart. When you finally get a vibe to take your fancy shoes and dresses out of your closet and take your Ugg boots off. I weirdly want to put my heels on tomorrow, no matter that it’s still pretty cold and snowy. It’s Saturday, it’s the first SPRING Saturday of the year and I want to go all beautiful tomorrow. Light and different, spring textures – a leather jacket or a silk blouse – from now on, day by day. The winter is over! Is’t it the best thing in the world – this year-round season change? I know exactly how funny it is for my Cali friends to read these lines. People who have been wearing bikinis throughout the whole winter won’t get how AWESOME it is to switch from your winter closet to a spring/summer collection. It’s not just a different style that is in. It’s nothing about a new line from your favorite designer. I can actually FEEL this breeze of changes. Outfit changes. Style changes. Life changes. It’s like you are born again, young and beautiful. It’s like every dress is so new, cause you haven’t worn it for a while. Since… Last year!

Love is in!

I feel like there can be nothing more tender than to read a fairy tale for a person you love. It's more intimate than seduction, it's less stressful than chatting. It's the easiest way to say "I love you, noone sees us right now and you can be completely opened with me". Murmuring a fairytale is like singing a lullaby, but even better, cause you can always choose the right one. Cheerful when your soulmate is down, tender when you want to show your feelings. There is always a story to teach and learn. There is always a cahnce to become a little happier. Cooler than fashion - love. It's always in.

One of my favourites - about a baby bear and a hedgehog, These two were cleaning stars every night cause they got filthy. It's a wonderful story of friendship and understanding each other in any circumstances.

Как ёжик с медвежонком протирали звезды

Вот уже целый месяц Ежик каждую ночь лазил на сосну и протирал звезды.

"Если я не буду протирать звезды каждый вечер - думал он - они обязательно потускнеют".

И с утра выходил на крыльцо, наламывал свежий веник, чтобы сбивать сначала со звезд пыль, и стирал тряпочку. Тряпочка у него была одна, и поэтому он каждое утро мыл ее и вешал на сосну сушить.

Покончив с приготовлениями. Ежик обедал и ложился спать. Просыпался он, когда уже выпадала роса. Поужинав, брал тряпочку в одну лапу, а веник в другую и потихонечку, с сучка на сучок, подымался на самую верхушку сосны. Здесь начиналось самое главное. Сначала звезды надо было обстукать веником, да так осторожно, чтобы случайно не сбить с неба. Потом веник переложить в левую лапу, а тряпочку взять в правую и протирать звезды до блеска. Работа была кропотливая, и на нее уходила вся ночь.

"А как же иначе? - ворчал Ежик, беседуя сам с собой на верхушке сосны.- Если Медвежонок не протрет звезды, если я не протру звезды, то кто же протрет звезды?.."

Медвежонок в это время тоже сидел на верхушке сосны над своим домом, протирал звезды и думал:

"Удивительно, как это Ежику в голову пришла такая счастливая мысль! Ведь если бы Ежик не придумал чистить звезды, их бы давно уже никто не видел. Вон какая пыльная!.." - И он дунул на звезду и потер тряпочкой...

Медвежонок очень старался, но у него не всегда получалось, как у Ежика. И если с неба падала звезда, все в лесу знали, что это ее нечаянно столкнул Медвежонок.

Let's talk about cars

A fashion obsession means that it is everywhere. Labels on clothes, shoes, even cars. Designers usually pick little ones and put logos on. Girls loooooove them cause they are so cute, and tiny and Gucci. Like a little striped Fiat. They can be so YSL, like this little Citroen. So French, so Italian. Aww!

No matter how much I love these brands, little cars by them are funny to me. I still believe that cars should be out of fashion – power should be in. Doesn't mean that they shouldn't be stylish of course. But power is the main thing to be everywhere, in every detail, in the engine, in the exterior, in the design itself.

 Fashion is light – it changes every now and then. Dresses and scarves are made out of cotton and silk. Cars are made out of metal and leather. Can anything like that be light?

Well, I am OBSESSED with cars. Sometimes I am not sure what I love more – purses or these huge awesome metal creatures. Of course I love my car. My Nissan baby boy, my important guy who drives me around and makes my life so much easier. Of course, looking at other cars makes me shaky inside. Every Monday and Wednesday, when my yoga classes finish late in the evening and the roads are empty the time of car industry comes. The night time, when drivers can show how powerful they and their cars are. Noone will see if the jacket is LV or Zara but there is no doubt your BMW is noticeable enough. You may wear Dior and take a train every morning cause it’s faster and whatnot. You can wear whatever you like but the leather on your seats will compliment any outfit, for sure. The Racing power in big cities like Moscow is definitely as big as the Fashion power. Wonderfully combining these two automatically make you win the battle for this wild city pride.

Business mysteries

I’ve recently done some research about brand stores in Moscow and it is crazy how this business sphere lives out here. I am not sure what is going on in the world but fashion and business is definitely a weird combo.

Of course, we all know, there isn’t such a word as sale for luxury brands like LV, Brioni, Gucci and many others. They sell every single item of each new collection? Pretty doubtful, right? Well, there are three big companies that own all the high-end boutiques in Moscow, and also have department stores, where the stuff is mixed together. Mercury means total luxury – Mr. Fridlyand and Mr Strunin founded their company in 1994 and since then they’ve been exclusive dealers of Rolex, Tiffany’s and a lot of wonderful car brands like Lamborghini, Bentley and  Maseratti.  Bosco di Ciliegi works with less expensive brands (D&G, Emporio Armani, Jean Paul Gaultier, Moschino, Casadei). Djamil ko’s owner from what I’ve heard is a a very expressive and greedy person (even thou his is a millionaire). He deals with Hermes, Christian Dior, Yohji Yamamoto etc.

First of all, all unsold items (50-70%) are sent to huge stocks where (if you are close enough to the owner) you can buy stuff with a 95% discount and then just destroyed. All beautiful designer dresses and purses aew burnt and torn cause they weren't sold for their regular price! It’s also almost impossible to import clothes, shoes and accessories legally. The fees and taxes are so high that the items become priceless after the customs. The price already doubles, not even talking about other expenses – salaries, rent, ads. So pretty much all three of Russian Fashion Monsters are using different schemes to pay less and earn more. For instance, according to the documents, no clothes are being imported but fabrique, second-hand items or even tights and socks for charity organizations. Crazy, isn’t it? Another “option” is to deal with offshores and import luxury goods thru the third country/organization. The cost of a D&G dress is $15 in covering documents. 15! Can you imagine that? The Chanel purse is $12. You understand how much it lowers the customs fees – quite enough to help minimizing expenses no matter if it’s legal or not.

I’ve read enough to understand that fashion business is a business first of all. No matter what you sell – gas, stationery or brand purses, you have fees and taxes due. You have to import goods, paying as little as you can. You have people working in your stores and contracts and many more economic details that make fashion an industry like any other, a little cooler but money-oriented as well.  Will we still love our favorite designers and their creative ideas and outfits they present? Yep.
